SPEAKERS

Claire Ng Yann Wei is a final-year Nutrition student at IMU (NT122 cohort), passionate about preventive healthcare and dedicated to helping people lead healthier lives through nutrition.
Her internship journey began at Klinik Kesihatan Seri Kembangan, where she was involved in maternal and child health, growth monitoring, and conducting one-on-one nutrition consultations.
She then joined the Sports Nutrition Academy (SNAC), gaining practical experience in athlete-centred care, nutrition education for performance, and hydration assessments. For her final placement,
Claire joined the global mobility programme at National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), Taiwan, where she explored cross-cultural dietary practices and strengthened her ability to provide nutrition care in diverse international settings.

Sayli Vartak is an international student from India, currently pursuing her Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Nutrition at IMU University, Malaysia.
She is passionate about nutrition, health promotion, and sustainable eating, and has led several community-based nutrition education programmes including initiatives on anaemia awareness and healthy eating for school children.
Sayli is currently undertaking a six-week international internship abroad at Deakin University, Australia.
With a strong interest in community nutrition and public health, she is committed to using her knowledge and skills to make a meaningful impact in the field of nutrition.

Choo Yean Xin is a final-year Nutrition student (NT122 cohort) at IMU, passionate about public health and making evidence-based nutrition more accessible to the community.
His internship journey began at Klinik Kesihatan Kelana Jaya, where he contributed to nutrition education sessions, developed educational materials, and supported health promotion efforts.
He is currently completing his final internship at Health Lane Family Pharmacy, an IMU Graduate Training Programme partner, where he provides evidence-based nutrition advice, engages with customers on health-related queries, and supports retail-based health initiatives.

Dr Chong Pei Nee is a Lecturer in the Division of Nutrition and Dietetics at IMU, with over 18 years of experience spanning nutraceutical marketing, manufacturing, and academia.
She has received several accolades, including the Best Poster Award at the Genetic Influence on Obesity and Associated Disease Meeting (London) and Best Oral Presentation (3rd Prize) at the 29th NSM Annual Scientific Conference. Dr
Chong is also a two-time recipient of the NSM Postgraduate Prize. A life member of both the Malaysian Association for the Study of Obesity (MASO) and the Nutrition Society of Malaysia (NSM), she also holds professional membership with the Malaysian Institute of Food Technology (MIFT) and is an HRDC-accredited trainer.
Her current research focuses on nutraceutical product development and nutrigenomics.
