The Nursing degree is a 4-year full-time programme which prepares a student to become a registered nurse, qualified to practise in a variety of settings in either the public or private healthcare sectors.
Students are provided with opportunities to learn a whole range of nursing skills in addition to acquiring knowledge related to nursing practice. To that end, IMU has an integrated Clinical Skills and Simulation Centre (CSSC) which simulates clinical environment ward setting. Here, students can obtain the requisite nursing skills before their clinical postings. In addition, students gain clinical experience through attachments at public and private hospitals and postings in community health centres.
Students are supervised and guided by nurse educators from IMU and health practitioners from the public and private sectors.

I was grateful to meet so many knowledgeable and dedicated teachers and wonderful people throughout my university life. I have learnt not only knowledge and skills, but also about attitudes from my nursing lecturers and clinical instructors. They helped me to define a “good” nurse, who upholds the professional nursing standards and integrity, respect and care for the well-being of others. I appreciate every encounter with the nurses and patients in the clinical settings that inspired me to become a better nurse and a better person.

Four years of university life as a nursing student in IMU had definitely made me learn and became a better person. Stimulated learning environment on campus have prepared us well before we step into real world. Clinical placements for every semester in government hospitals were well arranged and very much appreciated. Clinical placement had allowed us to gain experiences and it benefits us very much as in hands on practices and interpersonal relationships.

Bachelor of Nursing (Honours) IMU not only trained me to be a competent nurse, but we are also taught to be independent. The lecturers and tutors in IMU also nurture us to be a critical thinker and cultivate students to take on the role of a leader in healthcare. IMU also promotes the importance of continuous professional development to ensure students and staff keep up with the changing trends of the world. My learning experiences in IMU are the best that I have gained throughout these 4 years.
